There was an animal petition on STOP ABUSING in 2012, this is to Provide
Better Protection For All Creatures Great And Small, Deputy Agriculture and
Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Chua Tee Yong announced that the out-dated
Animal Act is being amended and appended with guidelines concerning pets is
also timely as many pets are known to suffer in the hands of owners who either
don’t care or don’t know how to care for their animals. It also states that the
biggest victims of animal cruelty and abuse here are dogs, which lead a
precarious existence in our society.
Here are few cases that recently happened in 2012 which was seriously
taken into consideration.
Animals as 'sentient property'

to the face by his owner in early 2012. He was rescued and treated at Walden

Not enough
of all this cruelty, there are some who just goes over the limit of torturing. This
video contains some disturbing footage, it is advisable that if you are not
capable of handling it, PLEASE STOP immediately.
This video is a true
example of the cruelty that has been happening among the humans. Whether or not
it changes your thought on the subject matter but this should definitely give
you a clear picture of what my topic is all about and that is if you had
watched the whole video clip which is not easy I believe.
Upon saying that, there
are many organizations that are trying to prevent this kind of cruelty. One of
most is Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; Selangor, Malaysia (SPCA Selangor)
is a non-profit animal shelter in Selangor that aims to help
animals that cannot defend themselves. The SPCA Selangor was founded by Ruth
Spiers in 1958.
SPCA Selangor receives
almost 1,100 animals ranging from dogs to rabbits every month. Due to shortage
of space and funding, and a 10% adoption rate, SPCA Selangor must euthanize
many animals each year. The SPCA Selangor aims to become a no-kill facility by
2010.
SPCA Selangor also educates
the public about responsible pet ownership, lobbies for animal protection and
animal control laws, spays and neuters animals, and investigates animal cruelty
complaints.
Currently, SPCA
Selangor is working to persuade the local government to increase the fine for
animal abusers. This campaign came about when a dog breeder in Cheras was found
guilty of abusing 13 of his dogs and fined RM200. In another case, Tim, a
Dachshund, had its chain wrapped so tightly around its neck that the chain had
become embedded into the skin, causing it to suffer a bloody six-inch wound
around its neck. Its owner got a fine of RM200 and was put in jail for one day.
In response these and other punishments which SPCA Selangor felt were
insufficient, SPCA came up with a petition and is appealing to the courts and
the law makers to increase the maximum fine of RM200 and/or six months of
imprisonment under The Animal Ordinance 1953 to a fine of RM100, 000.
This should be enforced
worldwide.
This video shows the SPCA in Ampang, Selangor that has been supporting animals all ways.
Elsewhere this video is a tour for you to see how is the environment in SPCA shelter which many thinks that it is enough to hold on to many animals. Due to the number of animals being brought in daily, hundreds of animals like dogs and cat that without a home or adoption is put to sleep for the betterment of them and the shelter so that the young breeds can survive for adoption.

Hey Viji~ i know that you are love with animals and i also love my house pupy doggy. So can know it why people make hurt to the animals why?Can you give me the reason.
ReplyDeleteHai Thean Moli, as I have stated in my post, most humans abuse their animal or pet is because of unwanted anger they have towards other humans that they can't show causing them to abuse a defenseless animal that is closest to them. I am glad to know that there are still people who care and love their pet. I hope you will not stop doing that for the rest of your life. May your spirit live. Thank you.
Deletehey my dear friend!your blog are interesting and let me know about many dog are torture in the world.when i watched the video u are post it i feel that was Cruel!i want to ask some question, can i know when the people torture the dog at the road and been see police it is crime?can police catch he or she in jail?
ReplyDeleteHai Chin, Thank you for your comment, yes, the police authority has all the rights to arrest any human abusing their pet. There will be a certain penalty charged and will be remanded in jail for few months or years depending on how serious the abuse is.
DeleteWell Viji, Have you considered joining as a member in SPCA? I am extremely against animal abuse as you are to. How would you Viji confront China to stop animal abusing and dog eating?
ReplyDeleteHi Colin, well, yes I am a member of SPCA and I do volunteer for taking care or servicing the pets over there. Regarding CHINA, there is nothing much I can do as it has been their culture of eating dogs, but if I ever get a chance I will try to stop this cruelty probably by creating a petition for that. To do so, the ministry should be supportive, as you and I know, it will never happen. Thank you.
